I awoke early this morning (about 3:00 AM) with a thought. Since it was so early I am still not sure if I was awake or dreaming. Anyway, here is what came to me at that early hour.
Since I have spent so much time thinking and talking about writing, why not begin to do something about it?
I affirmed my commitment a few hours later during my early morning run with Lou Ann through our neighborhood.
I have led several seminars titled "Six Keys To Handling Conflict" and I have often thought about turning that presentation into a manuscript. So, here is my plan. Several times a month through the end of this year and most of next I will post segments of chapters of my manuscript on the blog. I will use this venue to secure your feedback because I want to write something that will help and encourage our pastors and other church leaders.
I recall Michael Card making the following comment at a concert several years ago. "If what you are doing doesn't work in your local church, don't dare take it on the road." He was speaking to young worship leaders but I think the same is true for the kinds of books we should write.
