I am currently reading Steering Clear by Earl Wilson. In this compelling book, Earl provides some awesome insights into how to stay away from the slippery slope of moral failure.
Well, in addition to Earl's book, I had an experience last week that underscores his timely warnings to Christian leaders. On New Year's Eve I parked my car in a neighbor's driveway (they are in Phoenix for the winter) as we prepared to have some friends over for dinner. The following morning I looked out our window to see that the car had almost slid into the street. I had parked my car on ice and snow and didn't think of the possibility of it sliding into the street.
We must live in constant awareness of guarding our hearts and minds so that we steer clear of risky situations that lead to moral failure, for it is so easy to slide down those slippery slopes. We must also renew our efforts to pray for one another. Let us commit to pray for one another to live morally pure in thought and action so that we can be the clean vessels God can use to transform His churches.
Let me know how I can pray for you. Email me at jim@missionmid-atlantic.org. May God bless your marriage, family and ministry in 2010.
~ Jim
