Annual Meeting Update

We continue to give thanks to God for our time together as we met for our Mission Mid-Atlantic 2013 Annual Conference. We enjoyed fellowship in the beautiful facilities of Grace Baptist Church in Lancaster, PA with brothers and sisters from churches throughout the region. We learned from Dr. Mark Hoeffner, our keynote speaker, about the unique relationship we share in our covenant community of churches. We also heard from some special people who desire to plant churches among strategic people groups within our region. We sang our praises to God, talked about what He was doing during our breaks, and learned how to apply our Gospel DNA in our covenant community of churches.

But we're especially excited about this year's event because we provisionally approved our new Identity Document at our annual business meeting. This past year we made two different tours to visit our pastors cluster and discussed various iterations of the document. Delegates from churches throughout the region provisionally approved in an unanimous manner the document in Lancaster. We will continue to visit our pastors clusters with the view to finalizing our approval of the document at next year’s annual meeting. We will also seek to live together this year in view of our covenant relationships.

So thank you to everyone who joined us at Grace Baptist Church in Lancaster, PA. Thank you to all who volunteered, exhibited, and taught us through worship and the Word. And thank you especially to God who made this a successful event — not because of what we could immediately see in Lancaster, but because of how we know He will use our time together to build His church and spread the gospel around the world.
