I mentioned in my last blog that Braydon had an echo test around 5:30 PM. To clarify, they ordered the echo test due to some concerns with the amount of drainage from his surgical area. We were pleased to learn that the echo test revealed that everything seems to be ok.
Children's Hospital offers rooms for parents to spend the night as they become available, and we are glad that they offered Scott a room near Braydon. So, Shelly will stay with Braydon tonight and Scott will be near them. We pray that they will have a peaceful night after a rather stressful day. Hopefully tomorrow they can begin to lower the morphine so that Braydon can begin to wake up. Thanks for all your prayers. They are appreciated.
We would like for you to offer a prayer for another family we met while we were in the waiting room this evening. Sofia was born two weeks ago with only three chambers in her heart. Prior to her birth, her parents said the doctor gave them two choices: For her to be born or not to be born. This couple made the decision for her to be born.
Sofia had heart surgery right after her birth and her parents don't know if or when she can come home. Please pray for strength for this father and mother.
Meeting this family was another reminder to us of how blessed we are to be dealing with our concerns with Braydon.
We also ask, therefore, that you please pray for Sofia and her family, for God's grace and mercy and healing in her little life. Thanks for praying!
We will now turn off the computer and will settle in for a good nights rest!
