Sorry I didn't post an update this morning.
When we arrived at the hospital today, it was a great relief to see that Braydon's chest tube and hand IVs were removed. However, due to his pain medication, Braydon seems to have some stomach discomfort. By the time we left this evening, Braydon still had some trouble getting comfortable although he is now able to turn on his side to rest.
We ask you to pray that Braydon will be able to eat something tomorrow. The doctors and nurses are not concerned about this, and they observe that it is pretty common for an infant to not eat for the first couple of days following surgery. However, his grandparents will certainly be relieved when they see him eating! And we also are looking forward to seeing our "little man" smiling again.
Since this is his third surgery, I guess we expected him to bounce back kind of like he did in his two prior surgical procedures. This surgery was much more extensive, so it is not surprising that things are taking longer. We just have to keep reminding ourselves of this.
It is good to know that many are praying. Someday, when Braydon is older and able to understand, we will remind him that he had a tremendous amount of prayer support as he went through his surgery. Thanks for being a part of his prayer team! We appreciate it.
By the way, I was able to spend some time with Sofia's parents this evening. They spent all day at the hospital today while their daughter Gabriel stayed with friends. Sofia's father, Andrew, is a fourth grade teacher. Please keep this little girl in prayer, and pray also for strength for her parents. They face an unknown future.
Thanks again for your care and concern for Braydon.
