My pastor, Roger Nauss, alerted me to this great article posted in the Religion section of USA Today.
http://www.usatoday.com/news/religion/2008-01-09-unchurched-survey_N.htm
Ed Stetzer, Lifeway Research Director, observed that a majority of those who responded to a church attendance survey noted that Christians make them nervous, and they would rather seek input on their religion outside of the church.
However, the good news is that a majority of them would be interested in talking about faith issues. As noted in the article, it is all about starting conversations.
Question: How do we nurture disciples with an authentic faith that motivates them to initiate conversations with the unchurched who are searching?
The good news is that they appear to be open.
What do you think?
NOTE: I have a link to Ed Stetzer's blog under Favorite Blogs on the right hand side of my blog. On his blog he has additional background information regarding the USA Today article.
