I returned from Cape Town over a month ago and finally created a preliminary slide show of my trip. Nothing like a deadline to motivate me!
I present this slide show Wednesday morning to our local CB pastor's fellowship. They were kind enough to extend the invitation last month, and I am glad to oblige.
In this preliminary slide show I review some of the history of how the squatter camps of Cape Town were created. During my trip, I traveled to Khayelitsha, Mitchell's Plain, and Strandfontein squatter camps, and some pictures of those camps are included in the slide presentation. I also talk about the people as well as some of the ministries of the churches in the Cape Town region. In addition, I briefly explain that we (CBAmerica) were invited to Cape Town by John Doyle, Director of Cape Ministries International, to provide training for the pastors and churches of the region. My main reason for the trip was to provide marriage and family training, while Dr. Mark Hoeffner, Regional Executive Director for CBNorthwest, trained the pastors in the covenant community concept and launched the Covenant Fellowship of Cape Town.
This was a wonderful experience and I anticipate many opportunities to share the slide show!
